Quince Capital has adopted Door of Hope and FORA (Friends of Rescued Animals) as our beneficiary charities for 2010.

We as a company have a responsibility to assist the community in helping those less fortunate by donating both money and time. This responsibility is not just the company’s but each and every employee of the company should participate in improving the lives of others – Rudi Steenkamp – GM : Sales & Marketing.

DOOR OF HOPE

Some time ago, it came to our attention that in greater Johannesburg alone, 40 to 50 babies are abandoned every month and left to die of starvation or exposure.

In August 1999 we installed a "hole in the wall" or "baby bin" in the wall of the Mission Church, where babies can be placed 24 hours a day. A sensor alerts the people in the house whenever a newcomer has arrived. We will come to fetch the baby and will thereafter begin caring for him/her.

FORA

FORA is a pro-life shelter for homeless dogs and cats and opened in August 2003.  It is a non-profit organization run by a dedicated team of volunteers.

The shelter is based in the Roodepoort  area and accommodates +- 600 homeless animals.  It is a safe haven for homeless and abused animals to live whilst awaiting adoption or failing this, to live out the rest of their lives in a safe, loving environment.
